Internet of Cars shows the results of the Sixth Sense Transport research project, involving 5 university partners. The project investigates the development of apps and new data analysis to promote a social and shared space for people who use cars and want to reduce their carbon footprint. The exhibitions and events will explore and debate the use of cars in everyday life.

Focusing particularly on A354 road between Dorchester and Weymouth and city centre roads in Southampton, new art works by Steve Beard & Victoria Halford, Ivar van Bekkum & Esther Polak, Simon Hollington & Kypros Kyprianou, Duncan Shingleton, and Stanza will be exhibited responding to camera data derived from traffic around the two routes. The exhibition and events will also present apps and approaches that have been researched and developed to enable more economical usage of cars.

The exhibition and events are curated by SCAN and Sixth Sense Transport in partnership with Bridport Arts Centre, Dorset County Council, John Hansard Gallery, Winchester Science Centre and Southampton City Council
